February 19 – The Spark of an Idea
It all began at the end of a lively LARP (Live Action Role-Playing) party. Rachel, brimming with enthusiasm, whispered an idea to Eumelia: “What if we start a club at school to run charity sales with handmade products made by students?” The simplicity and brilliance of the concept captured Eumelia’s imagination immediately. Seeing the potential to make a difference, the two wasted no time in bringing this vision to life. They reached out to their closest friends—Lucy, Mia, and Elaine—who all agreed to join the cause. Together, they set off on a journey to establish what would later become Relemy.
The initial plan was straightforward: Rachel would bake treats, Eumelia would craft beaded bracelets, Lucy would manage finances and oversee purchases, while Mia and Elaine would handle promotions and publicity. As they started their work, the group realized their collective energy and skills had the potential to create something bigger and more impactful than they initially imagined.
The Evolution of a Name
At first, the group called their initiative “Kids Help Kids,” a heartfelt name Eumelia suggested that captured the essence of their mission. However, as their aspirations grew, they felt the need for a name that represented their teamwork and collective identity. After brainstorming together, they decided on the name Relemy, an acronym formed from the initials of their names—Rachel, Eumelia, Lucy, Mia, Elaine—along with “Y” for “Youths.” The new name represented not just their personal connection but their vision of empowering young people to make a difference.
While their goals and values remained clear—charity and donation—they soon faced their first significant challenge: school regulations prohibited monetary transactions and sales within clubs. Undeterred, the team pivoted and began planning a small business outside school grounds to continue their mission.
The Pivot to Business
To adapt to the new circumstances, they expanded their creative offerings. Rachel focused on making small beaded bracelets, Eumelia producing larger beaded bracelets, Lucy contributed handmade scrunchies, Mia created personalized keychains, and Elaine took charge of media production and advertisements. The group’s collaboration grew stronger as they combined their talents to lay the foundation for their business.

The Vision for Relemy
Relemy embodies the spirit of youth-led change, creativity, and compassion. Through their handmade products, the group aims to fundraise and donate to causes close to their hearts, including supporting children in need. Their journey from a whispered idea at a party to a fully registered business highlights their dedication, adaptability, and teamwork.
Although the plans and strategies have evolved over time, the heart of Relemy remains the same: to bring hope and support to others through the power of youth-driven initiative and creativity.
